WHEN TO USE THIS DOCUMENT
This is for use by a garage or mechanic who carries out repairs, servicing and works on vehicles. You can use these whether you are doing mechanical or body repairs or both. They should not be used by a garage which just sells cars or by a garage which is just selling parts. They are not for use when selling anything from a website.
You will use these when selling goods and services which are not being sold from a website or at a distance (over the telephone etc). It does not matter whether the garage is selling to businesses or private individuals.
Standard Terms and Conditions set out the basics of how you will supply your services. So, for example, it will deal with your obligations and what you will supply but will also deal with the buyer’s obligations and responsibilities (for example, if they supply information or parts which you use). The document has various options so you can customise it to suit what you need. For example, you can decide whether you want the buyer to pay before you supply or pay within 7 days of you providing an invoice etc.
The document also contains a proposal document that you customise so that you provide each customer with all the details (type of parts, exactly what you will be doing, price, how to pay etc) of the individual customer.
Together, the documents set out the terms and conditions of sale which the seller wants the buyer to agree to and so must be available for all buyers to read before they agree to buy. They should be part of the ordering process and available to read before the order is placed.
