What the privacy policy contains

 This policy contains the framework within which information that is provided by users of that website will be used.  It contains provisions on everything from how consent to use the information is provided, to changing information that has been supplied.

How to use the privacy policy and why you should use it

 It is important to ensure that users of your website know how their information will be used, whether it is information that is taken during browsing or that is uploaded by the user.  Potential users of your website may be worried about online fraud, identity theft and misuse of personal data and they need to know that the personal information taken by your website will be protected.

 You also need to provide clear guidelines on what constitutes consent to use personal information, as well as how you intend to use that information, so that you can avoid being in the position where a user of your website feels their information has been wrongly used, or used without their consent.

Cookies

 The terms and conditions in this privacy policy cover the use of cookies, including how they are processed by the website and what this means for the user of your website.  The policy also sets out how persistent cookies remain on the user’s computer even after the browser has been closed and the computer turned off, and how session cookies only exist during an online session.  The policy also explains how a user who has disabled cookies is able to use the website.

 In addition to those clauses that deal with cookies, this privacy policy contains other usual ‘boilerplate’ clauses.  These cover the mechanics of a privacy policy and are listed below:
